5-Second rule :-Mel Robbins
Does this happens to you when you actually want to do your most important work but you are making a lot of excuses or trying to delay it or thinking like you would do it later.if yes, then this whole article is for you only.
This is the summary of the 5-Second rule.
This book is amazing and it actually helps you to get rid of your habit of Procastination, there are a lot of people who tried this and got an amazing result, you can see their feedback in the book itself.
Let's start with the main thing.
Mel Robbins was very dissapointed with herself due to her poor performance at her home because of the habit of Procastination, her husband was in great trouble, Mel started drinking alcohol, she don't even focuses on her children but one day while drinking she saw a thing on her television which changes Mel not after a month, not after a week but from the next day.
She saw a rocket launch in the T.V. which goes like 5....4....3....2....1....let's go.
She caught that thing and she decided that just like the rocket she also will try to launch herself to do all the stuff she procastinated on,
When the next day her alarm goes on she again started procastinating but she did the thing,she only says to herself in mind 5....4....3....2....1....go and then she forces herself to wake up and she did it,and that's how the 5-second rule discovered. Mel says these points in her whole book:-
1) The most difficult work to do is to start it and also requires maximum efforts and courage,and courage is the only push to ourself to start any work,and when you just started doing your work by forcing yourself then you go on a working stage where you don't have to put any extra effort to do your work which is also known as flow state.
2) When we focus on problems rather than it's solutions then our brain also focuses on problem and magnifies it and then it also seems impossible to solve,so focus on solution instead of problems.
3) If you want to wake up early then you should apply the 5 second rule and you must want to move physically otherwise your brain will stop from doing that,coz it wants our body to provide maximum comfort.
Remember when your morning alarm rings,your brain doesn't says to you that I don't want to wake up he said that only five more minutes and that's the point you have the greatest challenge of the day.
4) The right and correct time to start anything is right now it doesn't comes for specially you by giving you invitation. So, anything you have to start, then do it right now, no matters that what is that work, how difficult or boring it is, if it's good for you then do it right now anyway,anyhow.
5) Once discovered that our 95% of decisions we make by our feelings or how we are feeling at that time and if we do or don't do the things what we feel to do then we will not go ahead in life and to control our feelings 5 second rule is the most effective tool.
6) We make excuses then we are procastinating ourself, for preventing that firstly forgive yourself for every wrong thinking or anything wrong you did in your past,it will not affect anyone but your future and the saying is also there that "God also forgives those people who forgive themselves by pure heart and with a promise to not to do that things again" and then create a future for you it will give you a great motivation to do that work and then finally apply the 5 second rule.
7) Almost 1/4th of our lifetime we spent in worring about those things which are not in our control and at the end of our life we regret ourself for our that decision of worring about useless things which only gives us anxiety, depression and takes off our happiness, like most of the old persons said when they are at the end of their life in the hospital bed.
8) Whenever you are worried about anything then you simply ask yourself two questions,
what i am grateful of this moment? and
what do i want to remember?
it just made you focus on the happiness rather than worrying about at that moment.
9) You can take the negative actions or thinking into positive, like if you are nervous then rather than saying that i am nervous you can say that i am so excited that i don't have any more words to say, this will affect you at a mental or subconcious way and the next time when you get nervous your brain says like that "he's only excited no have any reason to worry about just chill it and enjoy the excitement and the thing you are going to do".
10) In any relationship the most important thing is trust and believe as MEL described that being silent can create a lot of problems several times so anything you have to say to anyone ... just push yourself... 5..4..3..2..1.. yourself and just do it anyways and just say what is in your mind,it just clears doubts in any realtionship,but say it like you're not angry or frustrated otherwise your relationship is in a great trouble.
11) Whatever sad is happened to you in your past just use that negative energy to transform you into the positive one.
You can't change the past but with the help of a little courage with the 5 second you can change your future.
